Mind&Melody

Founded in 2014, Mind&Melody uses music to help seniors with and without neurological impairments regain pieces of themselves while instilling purpose and empathy in younger generations. We provide over 60+ programs in person and online for senior communities, day centers, and seniors aging in place, in Florida & New Mexico, benefiting over 1000 seniors. We've been recognized nationally for our work with our most recent win being the AARP Pitch & Thrive Innovation competition. During our sessions, individuals that are generally despondent come to life by playing instruments, socializing, singing, learning about musical instruments, conducting live music, dancing, and moving around. Our method allows for participants to retain information in their short-term memory and pull from long-term memories thus resulting in higher participation and engagement. Our robust recognition includes, The 2022 AARP Connect & Thrive People’s Choice Award, The 2018 Inspire305 Trailblazer Award through United Way, Coors Light Líderes of the Year 2018 recognizing the next up-and-coming Latino leader who has developed a program that benefits Latinos in his/her community, among others, the 2017 Florida Blue Health Innovation Competition, and more.
