Who We Are
LA Cares is an independent 100% volunteer organization, supported solely through donations. We serve any needy person or family living in Los Alamos County.
Typical services offered are:
- Food boxes
- Emergency assistance with rent and/or utilities once in 12 months’ time
- Referrals to other agencies
- Networking with other service providers to better meet client needs
What We Do
- Help pack food boxes and bags the day before the 2nd Friday distribution
- Deliver food boxes to clients on the 2nd Friday
- Be there to help with distribution
- Assist with sorting, packing, and/or moving food received from major food collections on a one-time basis
- Serve on the Board of Directors, becoming involved in all aspects of the organization
