Opportunities From: Volunteer Los Alamos

Join Los Alamos County Parks and Open Space as we work to maintain Walnut Canyon Rim Trail.  Volunteers will work in small groups to improve sections of eroded trail, build water diversions and close a section of braided trail. 

Project location

oin Bee City and county volunteers at the Golf Course to improve and maintain the new pollinator pocket garden at the “Bermuda Triangle” between holes 1, 3, and 4. The area was sown last fall with wildflowers and native grasses, and is growing plenty of weeds in addition to wildflowers! Bring your weeding tools and help clean up the area for pollinators. Some tools will be provided.

Join Los Alamos County Parks and Open Space as we work to maintain Upper Walnut Trail.  Volunteers will work in small groups to repair severely eroded sections of trail, build water diversions and remove trail side vegetation. 

Project Location

Seeking volunteers to assist with the Bee City Los Alamos Pollinator Demonstration Garden, located on Bathtub Row, next to the Los Alamos Senior Center and behind the County Extension Office.  

Ongoing watering and some weeding are necessary to keep the garden beautiful through the spring and summer. Watering takes about an hour to complete.  

Sign up for one or more ongoing shifts. Please note: Times are flexible on the day you water the garden. Britton, Coordinator, will reach out to schedule a time to meet at the garden, and you can water when it works best for you.
